Assessment Guide

• An Interim Assessment is provided for every three weeks. Interim assessments provide timely feedback and identify skills that require reteaching or practice early on. Use them at your discretion to evaluate all or some of your students.
• The Beginning-of-Year Assessment assesses phonics skills students acquired in the previous year. Use the assessment to determine which skills need review or practice before introducing new skills.
• The Mid-Year Assessment assesses student progress after 15 weeks of instruction. Use the assessment to identify skills that require reteaching or additional practice.
• The End-of-Year Assessment assesses students’ overall growth and mastery. Use the assessment to leave notes for next year’s teacher or to guide parents who wish to provide summertime practice.
